First for first responders as local firm LeapIT backs lifesavers

SOLIHULL-based IT company LeapIT have become the first corporate charity ambassadors of Arrive Alive, the community first responder organisation.

Arrive Alive is the only registered charity of its kind solely dedicated to funding lifesaving voluntary operated vehicles and it’s currently the charity of the year for Solihull Chamber of Commerce.

Each of the Arrive Alive vehicles have still been operational throughout the pandemic attending 999 calls frequently arriving at the scene of an emergency prior to a road or air ambulance due to being based directly in the heart of the community.

Each of the vehicles is operated by medically trained volunteers known as community first responders and are dispatched via a 999 call to West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Hockley Heath-based LeapIT have previously supported Arrive Alive with IT equipment to assist with fundraising during the lockdown and now becomes the charity’s first corporate ambassadors to assist with funding additional lifesaving vehicles and equipment.

“The work the Arrive Alive team do to be an additional resource for West Midlands Ambulance Service is quite literally saving lives,” said Stuart Watson, managing director of LeapIT

Arrive Alive’s charitable income has been hit by the pandemic at a time when West Midlands Ambulance Service has identified nine areas of the region where additional vehicles and equipment are urgently required.
