Birmingham-based charity Arrive Alive has funded a rapid response vehicle for FastAid Solihull.
The funds were donated through the charity’s Silver Second Appeal, which provides funds and support to emergency medical assistance in conjunction with the ambulance service.
The appeal was launched after Ellie Roscoe, daughter of fundraising directer of Arrive Alive Debbie Roscoe, contracted Measles and was quoted a two to four-hour wait for medical assistance.
The Silver Second Appeal provides funds to aid voluntary community-based emergency medical assistance, which can provide medical assistance prior to an ambulance.
The vehicles are operated by Community First Responders (CFR’s) who are dispatched via a 999 call and are trained to assist in a medical emergency within your community.
FastAid Birmingham and Solihull are CFRs operating in Birmingham and Solihull.
